Rooted in the ground
Beautiful things come to the surface
At the center of this necklace is a petrified wood stick that was drilled by me for this piece. The ‘stick’ at the center is 2 inches long x 5/8 inch wide. It is a rock i’ve been hanging onto for years, waiting for the perfect piece to present itself to me.
Running up from the centerpiece are handmade Bauxite beads made in Africa in the 19th C. and a few antique African glass beads.
At the back is a solid silver clasp and two old African Cowrie Shells, an ancient symbol of abundance. (as shown in the photos)
The necklace is 19.5 inches (49.5cm) around.
