The Raffle

$20.00

The Raffle is our experiment in staying afloat during this extremely interesting moment. Buying a raffle ticket does three things: 1) Supports the artists of Desert Archaic as each artist is paid for the work they sell. 2) Keeps Desert Archaic alive as a physical space while we navigate and find a way towards a new future.  3) Gives you a 20% chance of winning one of our 40 amazing prizes (and they are amazing, and there are many of them!)

Description

The Raffle: 20% chance of winning something amazing: 40 prizes but only  200 tickets at $20 each.

Hello There!

The raffle is our experiment in staying afloat during this extremely interesting moment.  Desert Archaic as a physical gallery has been thrown into the ocean along with the rest of the world.  The current moment is without analog and collectively we are are all doing everything we can to just keep afloat.  As we believe we will have to hunker down on a life raft for the foreseeable future we’ve come up with “The Raffle” as a way to pay the bills as it were and keep the dream of amazing art in sunny Truth or Consequences, New Mexico alive.

We have used our collective creative forces to put together amazing prizes and lots of them to boot, you’ve got a 20% chance of winning something.  That is good odds, 1 in 5.  We want to make this raffle as amazing as possible and we hope you are not disappointed by what we have on offer.

Buying a raffle ticket supports the artists as we are paying each artist their due for the art being raffled.  The money left over will allow us to keep the physical space of Desert Archaic alive for a bit longer so that we can keep bringing great art to the city of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.  The sale of artwork at Desert Archaic is a major stream of income for many artists in TorC and we want to keep putting money in the pockets of artists that help to make TorC special.

We’ve designed the prizes to be a veritable treasure trove of magical desert creations – from the functional to the metaphysical.

All of the prizes will be on display in the east most (left as you look at the building) window of our storefront at 324 Broadway, Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.

The Rules

This raffle has 200 tickets for $20 each in it.  Once all the tickets are sold we will printout, cutup and put all the names in a bowl and then draw a winner.  We’ll film the drawing and put it up on our Facebook Page so everyone can see it was legit.  At that point We’ll contact the winner and arrange delivery/pickup (Free in Truth or Consequences) or else shipping (paid for by winner).

If the winner chooses to ship the painting this will be an additional cost covered by the winner. Many items will ship for under $5, the rest will mostly be under $15, though some maybe $50 or more such as the 3 blue corn painting.

Prizes will be awarded at random.  We will pick a prize to award and then draw a name for that prize.  Purchasing a ticket entitles you the chance to win any of these prizes, but none specifically.

I will hold the raffle as soon as all of the tickets are sold.  This may be next week or three months from now or next spring, it really depends upon the ticket sales.

We also reserve the right to end the raffle at any time and draw the winning names at that moment.  That would only increase the odds of winning for anyone that has bought tickets so I trust this would not be an issue.
